Canadian Securities Institute Courses for Pakistan Capital Market

 KARACHI: the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) will offer training courses for capital market professionals in Pakistan, in partnership with the Pakistan Society of Technical Analysts (STAP). These programmers will be tailored to local regulatory requirements, STAP President Ovais Ahsan said

Ahsan said that three courses will be introduced initially: a course on Canadian securities, another on investment management techniques, and one on portfolio management techniques.

“Working professionals will teach these courses. Therefore, classes will likely be held in the evening,” said Ahsan.

The examination fee of a CSI course is between 500 and 1,000 Canadian dollars, Ahsan said; adding that tuition fee will likely range from Rs10,000 to Rs20,000 per month for one course. “Please bear in mind that Pakistani professionals will be paying roughly one-fifth of the tuition fee compared to what they would otherwise have to pay in Canada to receive the same qualification,” he said. “It’s particularly useful for people who want to migrate to Canada,” he noted. The admission process will start in a couple of months, and STAP has arranged a place that can accommodate up to 75 people for training.
