TABLE-Abu Dhabi May inflation edges up to 0.7 pct y/y –

June 9 (IFM Web Desk) – Abu Dhabi Statistics Centre released the following May consumer price data for the Gulf Arab emirate on Sunday.

 

ABU DHABI CONSUMER INFLATION        05/13        04/13       05/12

NOTE. Housing and utility costs, which account for almost 38 percent of consumer expenses, fell 0.6 percent year-on-year in May. But transport costs rose 3.1 percent and the restaurants and hotels category by 2.9 percent.

Analysts polled by Reuters in April forecast average inflation in the United Arab Emirates would accelerate to 1.6 percent in 2013 from 0.7 percent in 2012, which was the lowest level since 1990.
