To support the local industry government is likely to impose an anti dumping duty on imported PTA. As per the sources currently the local PTA is expensive than the imported PTA. Therefore to support the local industry government is highly likely to impose an anti dumping duty on the imported  PTA thus making the local PTA more attractive. Our correspondent talked to the market analyst (Arhum Ghous working at JS GLOBAL) regarding the impact said that “If the above anticipated story materializes  Lotte Chemical Pakistan Ltd (Lotte Chemical) which manufactures and supplies purified terephthalic acid (PTA) will be the major beneficiary, as currently the major competitor for LOTCHEM comes from import. “ He further said that due to the recent explosion in the Fujian factory in China which is the largest producer of PX in the world the global margins for PX are on a surge which will lead to an increase in LOTCHEM’S profit margins.
