The Annual Plan Coordination Committee is expected to approve on Friday the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) worth Rs900 billion for the next financial year.
A meeting to be presided over by Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Jahanzeb Khan will review the Annual Plan 2020-21 and the Proposed Annual Plan 2021-22. The meeting will also review the PSDP 2020-21 and the proposed PSDP for the next the financial year.
The volume of the next PSDP is Rs250bn higher than the federal developmental outlay of Rs650bn during the ongoing financial year.
The proposed allocations for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is considerably higher than previous year and an allocation of Rs75bn has been proposed in the upcoming PSDP. The allocations for the SDGs in the current financial year is Rs24bn.
An allocation of Rs54bn has been proposed for the merged Fata districts and Rs44bn for the special areas.
Around Rs509bn has been proposed for infrastructure. The Infrastructure sector includes Energy, water, transport and Communication and physical planning and housing.
Around Rs103.55bn has been proposed for the energy sector, Rs99.4bn for water, Rs265bn for transport and communication, Rs40.93bn for physical planning and housing, Rs38bn for the Higher Education Commission, Rs30bn for science and information technology, Rs27bn for health, Rs12bn for food and agriculture and Rs3bn for industries.
